I was just sending a note out that the hotel room block for this tournament has been set and many players are already calling the casino and taking advantage of the pool player rates for the weekend of this tournament. If this block fills, there may still be rooms available, but they would be at a much higher rate. So I encourage you all to call and reserve your rooms now while there is still room in the block. What tables are going to be used at the treasure Island tourney?

Most likely Valley tables will be used. Of course they will have the red circle cueball on them though because the tables will be open. And I'm working on putting some tables in the entry area for 24-hour play. We have to close the room around 2 a.m., but for the "all-nighters", there will be some tables in the entry area that will be open for play all weekend long, 24-hours a day! Hope to see you there!

Did they get mad at the late hours of the December event? There were plenty of singles and team matches being played at 3 am or later.

No - they didn't get mad about it, but they did want me to close the room at 2 a.m. and due to the scheduling conflict with the two different events, things got behind. That won't be an issue this time because there will only be one event going on and anyone not at their table when their match is called will be given ample notice and then forfeited. This will ensure steady flow of the charts and of the tournament. I apologize for that last time - it won't happen again.
By the way, entries have already started flowing in. People are really excited about playing in the new C division! I'm getting players who have never played in a big tournament before because they couldn't even compete in the B division due to their ability (or lack of...). I'm very proud to be able to accommodate these players and hope their experience is a positive one.
People interested in getting entered in the event can download the entry forms right here - on this site - and fill it out and mail it either directly to me or to your league operator and they will most likely forward it to me at deadline time. Last time the B Division singles filled early and some weren't able to play in that division. I have a feeling that the C and B divisions will fill early this time so I encourage you to send it asap so you get your place in the tournament. I know this is a cheap way of doing this, but I'm adding a quick note to this entry so it goes back to the top of the tournament announcements section. Many people are calling me and wondering where they can find the entry forms and I direct them to this site, so I want to make it easier for them to find.... I see there have been over 380 hits on this so far - I'm sure many of them have downloaded the entry forms... If you're not entered yet, you've still got a little while before you have to pay the late fee. See you there!!!
