Familiar with the KC pool scene?

Postby CleverName on Tue Mar 16, 2010 8:50 am

Some buddies and I are road trippin' down to Kansas City in a couple weeks for some live music, riverboat casinos, frisbee golf, and some delicious BBQ.

It appears that we are going to have a Friday night to check out a pool hall or two, seeing as how I hear they have a pretty decent pool scene down there. Anybody have any advice on which one we should go to? Which one is most popular? Where to find action? Which is nicest? Etc?

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Shooters in Olathe is about 25 minutes from downtown KC. Pretty famous place for their tournaments, and action at times. Side Pockets is another place to check out. They have many locations. Good luck!

As much as I'd love to check out their pool scene, the disc golfing sounds awesome down there too... Have you ever played any of the courses down there before??

Well it appears everywhere I read and look the signs are all pointing to Shooters in Olathe. Plus I guess there is a Friday night 9-ball Box tournament that routinely gets 45-50 players!? Nice.

@ Rabbi -
I haven't played any courses down there, but I heard there are a couple nice ones. Definitely gonna check it out. Hopefully the early April weather works out for us.

Generally their weather is about a month ahead of ours. So early April there is like our early May. So normally it's pretty decent temp wise.
