Tony

Funny stuff as usual. I'm hoping to get the okay from my doctor to play pool with my left hand out of my splint in a few weeks. Tomorrow is 8 weeks post-surgery and I'm still not able to make an open or closed bridge. I'm sure hard break shots or closed bridge stroke shots will be out of the question for some time, but hoping bunting balls around at the end of next month is doable. Hence the finger crossing. Thumb wrestling is right out.

Tony Hilla and Mike Garnett have both expressed interest in a re-match with Jimmy but haven't selected dates yet. Once those 2 slots are taken, only 9 openings remain. I urge anyone who is interested in the challenge series to act now.

Also, as a courtesy I've blocked in some times for players that I know are interested but haven't confirmed or paid for their places yet. Please confirm and pay to lock down your spot if you've got "Place Holder" behind your name in the schedule.

Again, the schedule and standings can be found on page 2 of this thread.

Thank you,
Mike Fieldhammer

Jason won the last game to make 18 points. I think he might try again. He looked solid and ran balls well, just couldn't get a shot when the balls went up table.

Only 7 spots left. Slim pickings. Just like the number of games Jimmy's lost in recent weeks.

Standings updated. Seven spots left. Plenty of room to make a nice score. Win just one single game and you're in the top 16.

I, Mike Fieldhammer the Calendar Keeper, screwed up. In verbal communications planning this challenge series, I was under the impression that only 48 challengers would participate. The original plan involved 3 players each week through 16 weeks. The format was changed to 4 players per week and I assumed the 48 slots would be completed by the end of August. I've been telling everyone that their last chance to challenge Jimmy would be on Friday, August 31. I think it would be unfair for players that I misinformed to extend the challenges for another month. It is also unfair to Jimmy to be short of the added money for the October tournament and also to have fewer spectators in the pool room in September. So, I propose to donate a cue to be raffled off to raise some of the extra money for the tournament. I propose that Jimmy start his next series of challengers in September to qualify for a tournament to be held in January.

Sound good and fair?
Thanks,
Mike Fieldhammer
