Tournaments this weekend

Postby Mike Fieldhammer on Thu Nov 20, 2008 11:10 am

Good luck to everyone playing in one of the events this weekend. I am playing in Rugby and there's also Fortune Bay and 7 states. If able, try to post some news updates from your tournament. I'll bet our forum members would like to follow the action.

Thanks and play well,
Mike

Good luck to everyone!

I could say - "wish I was gonna be there.......", but I'd be lying! I'll be lazing away on the beaches of Florida! Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!

Good Luck to all! Jeff and I will be at Dakota Magic Casino for their tournament. We were going to go to Fortune Bay but my cousin in Sioux Falls called me about this one. Will be nice to shoot a tournament with him. Hopefully he & Jeff won't have to play each other!! Cheryl H

Are you kidding? There's also a tournament at Dakota Magic? 4 tournaments this weekend?

I went 2/2 i n the 9-ball division. Felix and Jarrod Spence will play for the hot seat. A bunch of players were still working through the b-side. This is the 32 player border battle 9-ball event before the 8-ball starts Friday night in Rugby, ND.

Mike, keep an update on some of champions that are up there and what the calcutta is looking like. Rugby's calcutta always seems like quite a sack full of cash.

Rugby Update: The final 32 is nearly complete. The usual suspects are in. Rory, Marc, Felix, Jarrod, and Stan. I expect all of these guys to be $500+ picks in the Calcutta in about an hour.

Nice. Keep the updates coming. Should make for some interesting matches. Pull out that camcorder and get some matches of these monsters on tape!

The geographic center of North America, Rugby North Dakota, is a super event and the city goes all out to host a very strong event. I missed out on this one, but have had many good times there in the past.

The calcutta is an event to behold. Great players going for some high dollars. People pooling their resources to get the player they want. Plus some really good bar table 8-ball players. I remember watching a match with Rob Mattson, he won the flip in the race to 5, alternate break against his Canadian opponent.

Nine break and runs later Rob won on the hill, 5-4. I have never see a match like that. The Canadian fellow lost and ran four racks the only problem was Rob ran 5.

Great event. Also the home of Samsara Cues.
